Research on "Marine Tourism Contribution upon Fisherman Household
Income in Karangsong, Indramayu
Regency" was conducted from May 26 to
June 26, 2011 in the Karangsong Village, Indramayu Regency. The aimway to identify potential marine
tourism in Karangsong, to analyze fisherman work flow, to analyze fisherman
efforts in marine tourism location, and to measure its contribution on
fisherman household welfare.
The applied method was survey method on a number of
respondence samples in the Karangsong Village, Indramayu
Regency. Samples to interview were 25 respondents,
consisted of fishermen, their children, and fisherwomen. Using
questionnaires. Sampling techniques
applied were interviews and data collection.
Data type to collect included primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained by interview and field observation,
while secondary data by collecting data from agencies or related
institutions. Parameters measured
included the work-outpouring of fisherman households, analysis of fishing
efforts, the fisherman income, the relative contribution of income, and
contribution of absolute income.
The results
indicated that there were potential for marine tourism, which the local
government did not yet develop, and that marine tourism activities could be
source of additional income. For marine
tourism activity, offshore snack stall had the highest BCR of 3.17.
